Course Descriptions
The Summer Bridge Preview Courses are as follows:
Geometry Challenge: This course is designed for incoming 9th grade students who are interested in beginning their transition into high school and intend to take Geometry in the fall semester. Students will gain knowledge and skills known to promote success in high school. The curriculum will incorporate mathematics content focusing on problem solving skills and multiple approaches to mathematical thinking, as well as content that reaches students to become confident learners through effort, persistence, collaboration and risk-taking.
Accelerated Math: This course is designed for incoming 9th grade students to begin their transition into high school and to help them continue their advanced studies in mathematics. It is intended for students who will study Algebra 2/Trigonometry in the fall semester. The curriculum will incorporate mathematics content that focuses on problem solving skills and use of non-traditional problems to learn multiple approaches to mathematical thinking. The course will also help strengthen mathematical content and maturity.
Program Facts
- These courses are for enrichment purposes only. No credit will be given.
- These courses are open to incoming 9th grade students at Fremont High School only.
- These courses are intended to give students a "head start" on their math curriculum. Completing this course does not allow them to move onto a higher level math course.
