CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL EXIT EXAM

California public school students must pass the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) as well as satisfy any other state and local requirements to earn a high school diploma. This is a graduation requirement that is mandated by state law beginning with the class of 2006. The purpose of the CAHSEE is to improve student achievement in high school and ensure that students who graduate from high school can demonstrate competency in the state content standards for reading, writing, and mathematics. The exam is divided into two parts: English-Language Arts and Mathematics. All questions are aligned to California content standards adopted by the State Board of Education. Content standards describe what students should know and be able to do at each grade level from kindergarten through grade twelve.

If you have any questions about the CAHSEE, please contact your Assistant Principal at your high school
or Marianne Hew, Coordinator of Curriculum and Assessment, at 408-522-2291 at the District Office.
