Homestead High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) continued their success at the 75th anniversary of FBLA’s National Leadership Conference, which took place this summer in Anaheim, CA. At the conference, over 9,000 FBLA members had the opportunity to compete in over 70 events to win more than $170,000 in cash awards. These events covered topics ranging from Accounting to Word Processing. In addition to competitions, students had the opportunity to meet fellow members from different parts of the country, attend interactive workshops led by business professionals, visit an information-packed exhibit hall, hear from motivational speakers and spend a day at the Disneyland and California Adventure theme parks. At the State Leadership Conference in April 2017, Homestead FBLA qualified 82 members to compete in 40 events at the National Leadership Conference. Of these 82 members, 61 of them received national recognition by finishing in the top 10 of their event, in 25 different events. HHS FBLA had took home two national championships: Nadav Bronicki in Business Law, and Valerie Hu, Kevin Ham and Zibaa Adil for their Partnership with Business collaboration with Shutterfly.
