Facilities Modernization Program Update

Our Facilities Modernization Program began with the passage of a bond measure in April 1998. All classrooms at our five high schools—Cupertino, Fremont, Homestead, Lynbrook, and Monta Vista—have been modernized, providing an environment more conducive to teaching and learning. Each high school has a new library building or an updated, modern library facility. Student-centered facilities have been modernized including drama and music areas along with gyms and locker rooms (Monta Vista High School work is still in progress). Several new buildings have been constructed including field houses (gym without bleachers) on two campuses and a very large gym/classroom building on one campus. The District has added an additional 160,000 square feet of classroom/library/gym space.

CUPERTINO HIGH SCHOOL
The front of the school has changed dramatically with the new arch entrance that mirrors the design of the new field house.

FREMONT HIGH SCHOOL
The school has the feel of a college campus with the new amphitheater and arched library building in the center of the campus.

HOMESTEAD HIGH SCHOOL
The new library is stunning with one wall of glass facing the oak tree in the quad in front of the school.

LYNBROOK HIGH SCHOOL
The new library building on the back of the campus beautifully mirrors the design of the other school buildings.

MONTA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL
The renovated auditorium and library are outstanding facilities. Pool construction and locker rooms / gym modernization is complete.
