SPED 259 Project Optimal

Foundations in Autism Spectrum Disorders

Foundations in Autism Spectrum Disorders is an online self-study course that is currently available to FUHSD Staff. It is provided at no cost and satisfies the SPED 259 requirement for the Autism Added Authorization through the San Joaquin County Office of Education.

The Course is arranged into 4 modules:

  • Module A: What is Autism?
  • Module B: Educational Requirements
  • Module C: Behaviorism
  • Module D: Instructional Interventions

The course may be accessed at (Click on the New Student link if you have not registered before.) To enroll, enter all of the required information and use Group Code SCFR3141.

Remember! SPED 258 and SPED 259 may be completed in any order, however they must BOTH be completed before enrolling into the Fieldwork/Observation course (SPED 286.)

You will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing this course. Print out and keep this certificate in a safe location. You will be required to submit it along with the rest of your paperwork when applying for the Added Authorization.
